Possible Virus Case Shutters EEOC Agency HQ, Field Office

Employees at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s headquarters and field office in Washington, D.C., will be teleworking “until further notice” after one worker exhibited symptoms consistent with the new coronavirus.

The agency, which enforces federal anti-discrimination laws, will “remain fully operational,” according to a statement on its website.

“This measure is being undertaken as a precaution against potential exposure to the Coronavirus,” the statement said. “In the meantime, a deep cleaning of all headquarters floors and common spaces, such as the elevators, will be undertaken.”
