Northwestern Workers Want Another Try in Retirement Fee Lawsuit

Northwestern University workers want another shot at their lawsuit alleging the university mismanaged its retirement plans.

The workers June 22 asked a federal district judge in Illinois to set aside part of a previous order that dismissed all their claims and allow them to amend their allegations.

The request comes one month after Judge Jorge L. Alonso of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed the workers’ lawsuit accusing the university of violating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by offering imprudent investments and allowing excessive fees in its retirement plans.
