Budget negotiators have discussed adding a popular retirement bill to the deal they are negotiating to raise the budget caps and debt limit, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal said.
“There is talk of adding the SECURE Act to it,” the Mass. Democrat said in an interview. “That already passed the House and Chuck Schumer would love to do it.”
The Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019 (H.R. 1994) passed the House on May 23 and has been hotlined for quick passage in the Senate.
