Employers and health insurers will more easily be able to continue offering employer health plans that were in existence before Obamacare took effect under a final rule released by the IRS.

These health plans were allowed to continue after the law’s effective date in March 2010 even though they don’t offer the same benefits as newer plans that must conform to the Affordable Care Act. They stem from President Barack Obama’s statement about his signature health-care law, “If you like your current plan, you can keep it.”
