IRS Extends Virus Relief to Employers Depositing Withheld Taxes

The IRS said Tuesday it would continue to waive penalties for employers who don’t deposit in a timely fashion taxes related to employees affected by Covid-19.

The waiver applies to employers who benefit from tax credits related to employees on sick leave or family leave or the employee retention credit due to the coronavirus, the notice said.
