Independent Fiduciary Appointed to Handle Medova Health Claims

Health-care claims for 35,000 employees in 38 states will be handled by a court-appointed fiduciary after the Labor Department filed a complaint against a Wichita, Kan., company for misusing funds from more than 2,600 health plans.

A consent order announced Monday, entered by the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, appointed Receivership Management Inc. of Madison, Tenn., as claims administrator to oversee employee benefit plans previously administered by Medova Healthcare Financial Group LLC, its president and CEO, its chief operating officer, and Midlands Casualty Insurance Co. Inc., the DOL said.
