Honeywell Retiree Benefit Lawsuit Not Dead Yet

Honeywell International Inc. isn’t completely free of a lawsuit challenging its decision to cut health benefits for about 50 retirees at a Boyne City, Mich., plant.

The retirees April 18 asked a federal appeals court to hold off enforcing its March 8 decision in favor of the company while the retirees appeal that ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court. On April 19, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ordered Honeywell to respond to the retirees’ request by April 30, signaling that the case may yet go forward.
