Employer health plans and other health insurance plans must report on prescription drug and health coverage costs under a rule issued Wednesday by four agencies.
The interim final rule (RIN 0938 AU66), issued by the departments of Health and Human Services, Labor, Treasury, and the Office of Personnel Management, is required under the No Surprises Act and transparency requirements in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (H.R. 133).
Health plans are required to report substantial amounts of information about the most frequently dispensed prescription drugs covered, their costs, premiums, and drug rebates under the law.
