Family-Leave Insurance Wage Bases to Rise in 2022

Taxable wage bases for some state family-leave insurance programs are to increase for 2022 because the Social Security wage base is to increase.

Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington use the Social Security (Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance) taxable wage base to determine family-leave insurance wage bases. The Social Security wage base is to be $147,000 for 2022, the Social Security Administration said Oct. 13 in a news release.

Effective Jan. 1, 2022, family-leave insurance wage bases are to increase to $147,000 from $142,800 in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington.
