Many employers will likely use data compiled by health insurers and health plan administrators to meet requirements that they provide information on hospital rates, a Department of Labor official said Tuesday.
Group health plans sponsored by employers and insurers are required to provide public information on hospital rates in machine-readable files in less than two months. Large employers that sponsor health plans are scrambling to compile the voluminous information.
