A former medical education specialist who suffered from chronic severe back pain proved that she was totally disabled for at least 24 months under the terms of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada’s long-term disability plan, a Montana federal court held. Although the plaintiff held two additional jobs at the same time as an owner of a Jiujitsu dojo and a sales-commission job, the preponderance of the evidence, including a sacral cyst and surgeries, indicated that she couldn’t do such things as sit for six hours a day.
