BP to Face Trial in Standard Oil Pension Conversion Class Action

A class action accusing BP Corp. NA of failing to properly explain how its acquisition of Standard Oil of Ohio would harm pension benefits is heading to trial after a Houston federal judge declined to award the company summary judgment.

The case turns on factual disputes that must be resolved at trial, including whether the plaintiffs are entitled to equitable relief and whether their claims are time-barred, Judge George C.
