The Justice Department’s bankruptcy watchdog urged keeping the National Rifle Association’s unsecured creditors committee intact, pushing back on an attempt by the gun advocacy group’s donor marketing firm to overhaul it.
The current committee, as appointed by the U.S. Trustee, “adequately represents” the universe of unsecured claims against the NRA, including those for vendor obligations, pension liabilities, and litigation over alleged corruption, William T. Neary, regional director at the U.S. Trustee’s Office, said in a court filing Sunday.
