Opioid Co-Counsel, E-Discovery Firm Sue Each Other Over Fees

Gilbert LLP, which is helping Delaware prosecute an enforcement lawsuit over the opioid epidemic, accused e-discovery vendor Trust-ED Solutions LLC of holding sensitive data hostage, while Trust-ED claims in a separate suit that Gilbert isn’t paying its bills.

Gilbert’s Chancery Court complaint against Trust-ED, made public Monday, was originally filed under seal June 23, one day after the e-discovery firm hit it with contract claims in Delaware Superior Court.

The dueling suits concern Trust-ED’s work for Gilbert, which is co-counsel in the state’s underlying action blaming top drugmakers for Delaware’s share of the nationwide opioid crisis.
