Online IRS Tool for E-Signed Authorizations to Launch in January

The IRS plans to begin in January allowing tax professionals to upload certain authorization forms with digital signatures, an agency official said Thursday.

The professionals will be able to access a page on IRS.gov that lets them use the Secure Access service to authenticate their identities and upload two types of third-party authorization forms, signed either electronically or with ink, Sharyn M. Fisk, director of the IRS’s Office of Professional Responsibility, said in an online post.
