US ATTORNEYS were handed a pre-Thanksgiving demand from the DOJ yesterday: an email giving them until the end of Wednesday to report their progress fulfilling the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown and four other enforcement priorities, Ben Penn reports.
- The email, obtained by Bloomberg Law, directs all 93 chief prosecutors to collect troves of data. DOJ wants to know how many investigations each US attorney has opened into “organized political violence” following Charlie Kirk’s murder, a list of open cases with a “nexus to a drug cartel,” and legal actions they’ve “executed to combat illegal harboring and obstruction” of undocumented immigrants ...
