Taiwan MOF Explains Individual Income Tax Return Filing Requirements

The Taiwanese Ministry of Finance May 11 explained the tax return filing requirements for resident individual taxpayers. The explanation includes that: 1) individual taxpayers must complete and file their 2020 income tax returns between May 1 and May 31; and 2) taxpayers must pay their taxes due before filing their returns. The agency clarified that foreign national taxpayers staying in Taiwan for at least 183 days of the tax year are considered residents. [Taiwan, Ministry of Finance, 05/11/21]
