Puerto Rico’s Economic Chief, Key Staff Members Quit

The head of Puerto Rico’s economic development department and about a dozen others quit their posts Tuesday, complicating some of the government’s key initiatives that aim to attract manufacturing and wealthy mainlanders to the US territory.

Economic Development and Commerce Secretary Sebastián Negrón said in a statement that he and Governor Jenniffer González “no longer trust” each other and that “it was impossible to continue in the post.”
