New York Businesses’ Top Tax Debt List Shows Recovery Elusive

Car dealerships, restaurants, taxi companies and construction firms that fell behind on their New York corporate and sales tax payments before the Covid-19 pandemic have plunged millions of dollars deeper into arrears, suggesting the economic recovery could take longer for industries that rely on New York City’s business districts and couldn’t easily switch to remote work.
