A hearing to consider Danny Werfel’s nomination for IRS commissioner hasn’t been set, but Senate Finance Committee members have begun meeting President Joe Biden’s top pick for the agency.
Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said he already has spoken with Werfel, who was nominated in November to lead the agency. While the committee hasn’t yet organized for the new Congress, once that process is completed, a date for his hearing likely will be set.
