Don’t Let Thieves Fake It Until They Make It This Holiday Season

My mailbox—and my inbox, thanks to #GivingTuesday—are currently filled with solicitations from charitable organizations. We all know that the holiday season is traditionally a season of giving. But this year, the need is more than most: Covid-19 continues to spread, impacting lives worldwide.

Unfortunately, the good nature of those hoping to help others can also make them victims: The pandemic has created opportunities for scammers. The FBI and other agencies, including the IRS and Federal Trade Commission, have been issuing warnings about fake charitable organizations designed to trick well-meaning donors.
