A discussion on changing the EU’s unanimity rule for some decisions, including on tax, won’t be a priority for the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU, Czech prime minister Petr Fiala said.
Czechia assumed the rotating presidency of the EU council, in which European Union governments meet, on July 1, taking over from France. France tried but failed over several meetings of bloc finance ministers to broker agreement on adoption of the global minimum tax, on which all EU countries must unanimously agree.
