China Competition Bill Heads to Conference After Senate Votes

The Senate is getting back on track and is looking to wrap up its work for the week this afternoon.

Despite a delayed start, late last night it completed the last series of votes needed to go to conference with the House on multibillion-dollar manufacturing and innovation legislation (H.R. 4521) aimed at improving U.S. competition with China.

The vote series on motions to instruct, which guide senators as they enter negotiations with the House on the bipartisan bill, and the formal appointment of conferees, allow conference negotiations to begin on the legislation. A final bill would need to ...
