States Bullish on Revenue Growth, For Now, as Pandemic Wanes

Sales and excise tax increases aren’t on the short-term agendas of most states, thanks to an economic rebound coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic and federal stimulus dollars.

Long-term, however, states are fretting about potential revenue gaps as federal dollars disappear and any broader economic carnage from the pandemic becomes apparent.
