Mississippi Imposes Tax Duties on Marketplace Facilitators

Marketplace facilitators will have to start collecting and paying sales and use taxes in Mississippi on Wednesday.

Gov. Tate Reeves (R) signed the bill late Tuesday. Mississippi thus becomes the 42d of the 45 sales-tax states to enact laws imposing tax duties on marketplaces such as Amazon.com Inc. and Etsy Inc.
