Kansas Remote Sales Tax Bills Struggle Amid Virus Outbreak

Kansas adjourned its legislative session due to the coronavirus pandemic, before passing a bill that would establish a threshold for the requirement that remote vendors collect and remit taxes.

The early adjournment of the state House and Senate leaves in legislative limbo three different Wayfair-related proposals (H.B. 2513, H.B. 2537, and H.B. 2657). The odds of Kansas getting a remote sales tax requirement with a minimum threshold are now greatly reduced, sources said.
