Indiana Assembly Passes Sports Betting Bill With 9.5 Percent Tax

Indiana is close to becoming the latest state to legalize and tax sports betting.

The Indiana House and Senate April 24 passed H.B. 1015 , which would open the state’s gambling centers to betting on professional and collegiate sports. Gov. Eric Holcomb’s (R) office is reviewing the bill and won’t comment on whether he’ll sign it, spokesperson Rachel Hoffmeyer said in an April 25 email.
