Pandemic Prompts Calls for Greater Gender Equality in Tax Policy

International tax experts and finance ministers are calling on lawmakers to use tax policy to fight the unequal economic burdens placed on women during the coronavirus pandemic.

As millions of women have been pushed out of the global workforce since March 2020, the health crisis has “shined a spotlight on gender inequality” and tax policy, said Grace Perez Navarro, deputy director of the OECD’s Center for Tax Policy and Administration.
