Global Tax Deal Should Go Further, African Tax Forum Says

A group of African governments welcomed Thursday’s OECD-led deal over a global tax overhaul, but called for the plan to go further in helping developing countries.

The African Tax Administration Forum called the agreement among 130 countries a “new milestone,” but said the plan should reallocate more of multinationals’ profits and urged countries to adopt a global minimum corporate tax rate of at least 20%, rather than 15%. ATAF helps African tax authorities and works with governments from across the continent.
