Australia Extends Tax Help for Bushfire Victims

The Australian Tax Office is extending the tax assistance it is offering to people and businesses affected by bushfires.

Those affected now have until May 28 to fulfill tax obligations. The ATO is also fast-tracking any tax refunds, including those for goods and services tax, owed to taxpayers in affected regions. The ATO previously announced it would give affected businesses and individuals extra time to pay tax debts and fill in tax forms.
