State unemployment insurance agencies would have to meet more generous federal standards for eligibility and benefits duration under a proposal Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) released for inclusion in Democrats’ budget reconciliation package.

Wyden’s office unveiled legislative text Monday, a week after telling unemployment advocates that he aimed to include a scaled-back version of his previous unemployment overhaul plan in the reconciliation bill Democrats are developing on Capitol Hill.
