Worker Suing Over Covid Leave Denied Look at Employer’s PPP Use

A Florida man who says his employer cheated him out of paid sick leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act was denied discovery on the company’s use of funds it received under the federal government’s Payroll Protection Program.

Timothy O’Bryan sued June 23, saying he says he was eligible for and denied two weeks’ paid time off under the EPSLAprovisions of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and then fired for requesting it. He demanded the company turn over information regarding its PPP use.
