White Chick-Fil-A Worker Fired for ‘Protester’ Remark Lacks Suit

The White former training development director at a Pennsylvania Chick-Fil-A failed with a lawsuit alleging he was fired for a comment that likened a Black co-worker to a “protester” because of his race, a Philadelphia federal court ruled.

Richard Lacontora’s race discrimination claim against Geno Enterprises LLC alleged that he was wrongly viewed as having made a racist comment, the court said.

False accusations of being racist are “morally wrong,” but they “cannot form the basis of a Title VII discrimination claim,” the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Wednesday.
