Warren, Murray Query Labor Board Counsel on ‘Sweeping’ Memo

Two Democratic senators are demanding that the labor board’s top prosecutor explain a “sweeping” memo he issued earlier this month that seems to suggest reversing several Obama-era rulings on workers’ rights.

Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.) in a Dec. 12 letter requested “any communications” this year in which general counsel Peter Robb (R) or his staff discussed the decisions in the memo with outside parties. The lawmakers appear to be trying to uncover the behind-the-scenes decision making spurring the new counsel’s direction for the National Labor Relations Board.
