USCIS Seeking Public Comment on Barriers to Immigration Services

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is seeking public comment on ways the agency can reduce administrative and other barriers for immigrants applying for benefits.

The request for information stems from President Joe Biden’s February executive order that called upon all federal agencies to identify strategies that promote “integration, inclusion, and citizenship” and “identify barriers that impede access to immigration benefits and fair, efficient adjudications of these benefits.”

USCIS and other agencies involved with the determination and distribution of visas and other immigration benefits are currently battling a growing backlog of applications after offices were forced to close in the U.S....
