U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services made a series of policy changes Wednesday to ease application processes for green card and visa seekers.

The moves should provide some relief to those navigating a system riddled with backlogs and long wait times—circumstances exacerbated by the pandemic and the administration of former President Donald Trump, which sought to slow and further restrict legal immigration to the U.S.—according to immigration lawyers.
