U.S. Workers Challenge Foreign Student Training Program

A group of U.S.-born technology workers has filed a fresh lawsuit challenging new regulations on a training program for foreign graduates of U.S. colleges and universities ( Wash. Alliance of Tech. Workers v. DHS, D.D.C., No. 1:16-cv-01170, complaint filed 6/17/16).

The Washington Alliance of Technology Workers claims that the Department of Homeland Security rule is putting its members out of work. The DHS final rule, which went into effect May 10, lets international students with science, technology, engineering or mathematics degrees work up to 36 months post-graduation in their fields of study.
