US Labor Chief Says He Talks Daily to Rail Unions and Companies

US Department of Labor Secretary Marty Walsh said that he’s communicating with railway companies and unions daily after two unions rejected a deal forged with help from President Biden’s administration.

“I’m encouraging both sides to stay at the table and get another opportunity to get a vote on before our deadline,” Walsh said on Bloomberg Television’s The Open. “I’m very active in making sure and talking to the representatives of the companies on a daily basis and I talk to different unions almost on a daily basis, as well. Particularly the unions that didn’t ratify the contract.”
