Higher wage gains continue to elude unions in contract deliberations as organized labor is on pace to end the year with average wage increases below or equivalent to last year’s levels, according to Bloomberg Law’s latest bi-weekly update of collective bargaining settlements.
The average union worker saw their wages rise 3.3% in the first year of a newly negotiated collective bargaining agreement in 2019. That’s based on 864 contracts added to Bloomberg Law’s database since Jan. 1. It’s the same average raise a union member could expect at this point last year.
