Union-Represented Private Sector Workers
Outnumber Those in Public Sector, CRS Says

More private sector than public sector employees were covered by collective bargaining agreements in 2013, a reversal from four years earlier, according to a Congressional Research Service report obtained by Bloomberg BNA March 24.

“In 2009, for the first time, a majority of workers who were covered by a collective bargaining agreement were employed in the public sector (8.7 million workers in the public sector, compared to 8.2 million private sector workers).
