Union Pacific, Railroad Association May Be ‘Single Employer’

Union Pacific Railroad Co. must face trial on a local railroad association worker’s sexual harassment allegations, because those two entities may have been her “single employer” under federal law, the Middle District of Louisiana ruled.

It is undisputed that Monica Hooge was an employee of the Louisiana Railroad Association, which was established by lobbyist-lawyer Carmack Blackmon to represent Union Pacific and 11 other railroads, the court said.
