Uber Eats Misclassification Suit Blocked, but Driver Can Refile

Uber Technologies Inc. won dismissal of a proposed class action alleging it misclassified its Uber Eats drivers as independent contractors after the Northern District of California found insufficient allegations that the company denied employee benefits.

Named plaintiff Kent Hassell didn’t allege he incurred any expenses necessary for his job duties for which Uber failed to reimburse him, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled Monday.
