Uber California Arbitration Disputes Returned to State Court (1)

The US Supreme Court sent a handful of cases back to California courts to decide whether Uber Technologies Inc. drivers and other workers for app-based companies can remain in court to litigate their group lawsuits alleging violations of the state’s labor code.

The justices on Monday remanded five cases raising the same issue in light of their recent decision limiting the reach of California’s Private Attorneys General Act, a unique law that deputizes workers to sue their employers on behalf of other employees.
