UAW Members Must Resolve Grievance With Union, Not in Court (1)

A group of autoworkers in Toledo, Ohio, will take their grievance back to the UAW after a federal appeals court said they must exhaust their claims internally rather than before a judge.

Workers at the Toledo Assembly Complex sued Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the union in 2015 in a dispute over a grievance about seniority rights. Among other things, they allege the union had dropped the grievance and misled the workers about its status, causing them to miss a deadline.
