U.S. employers beginning Friday will have access to 20,000 additional temporary nonagricultural work visas for winter hiring, the Homeland Security and Labor departments announced.
The temporary final rule authorizing the visas delivers on demands of employers who say they are struggling amid ongoing labor shortages.
The Biden administration first announced the additional H-2B visas in December, marking the first time that the federal government has raised the supplemental cap on the visas in the first half of the fiscal year. The visa rule on cleared White House review this week.
