U.S. Companies Ease Job Requirements to Lure Workers, Poll Shows

About a third of U.S. companies have loosened hiring requirements for temporary workers and a similar number are planning or considering to do the same, with national unemployment sitting near a half-century low, according to a new report.

The survey released by staffing company Adecco USA Wednesday polled about 500 businesses in more than 40 states across a variety of sectors about hiring requirements. The results of the April poll showed many companies have lowered the required years of experience and education and sped up the hiring process, while some have stopped drug tests and background checks.
