Tyson, Perdue to Face Expanded Antitrust Suit on Immigrant Wages

Poultry workers leading litigation over an alleged scheme to drive down their pay won another preliminary round in court, when a federal judge in Maryland advanced an expanded version of their case against Tyson Foods Inc., Perdue Farms Inc., and other industry leaders.

Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher let the proposed class action move forward Tuesday, saying its core claims remain plausible even after the poultry plant employees added allegations about hatcheries and feed mills. She previously held that chicken plant workers paid hourly could bring claims related to salaried employees and those working in turkey plants.
