Trump’s Pick for Wage-Hour Chief Nears Final Confirmation Vote

The Senate April 9 advanced Cheryl Stanton’s nomination to run the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division.

Lawmakers voted 53-47 to limit debate on nomination for Stanton, a South Carolina wage and hour attorney. That limits the Senate to two hours of debate before a confirmation vote.

Stanton is among a wave of nominees that could have their numbers called soon, thanks to a recent change to the Senate confirmation process.
