Trump Taps South Carolina’s Stanton for Wage-Hour Chief

Cheryl Stanton is the Trump administration’s pick to head the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division, where she would lead an agency facing critical policy decisions.

Stanton, the executive director of the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, has been the expected nominee for WHD administrator for months, but the White House didn’t make its intentions to nominate her official until an announcement late Sept. 1. Stanton was the White House’s principal legal liaison to the DOL, National Labor Relations Board, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under President George W. Bush.
