The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development published a late-afternoon memo on the Trump administration’s last full day in office that could make it harder for the incoming Biden administration to reverse newly enacted changes to construction wage calculations.
The memo builds on technical revisions the U.S. Labor Department made late last month to wage requirements for contractors working on federally assisted building projects. The changes could reduce workers’ pay.
The HUD memo, published Tuesday, aligns the department’s policies with the changes the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division made in December.
